Antwerp Port receives Tank Storage Award

Apr 07, 2017: Antwerp Port Authority received the Tank Storage Award in the category Best Port. With this award the tank storage industry recognises the port with which it is easiest to work and where companies make great efforts towards efficiency and safety.
The Global Tank Storage Awards is an annual initiative by the British specialist journal Tank Storage Magazine. There are various categories with the winneexpertsrs being selected by a jury of 11 . This year the focus of the Awards lay on “excellence, safety & & innovation.” In the Best Port category the tank storage companies in Antwerp ensured that our port emerged as the winner.
“This award is the well-deserved result of many years of investment by private companies in our port,” said, Michel Leyseele, Oil & & Chemicals manager who accepted the award on behalf of the Antwerp Port Authority.
With 11 terminal operators, 16 multi-customer terminals and 7.3 million m3 of storage capacity the port of Antwerp is a major player in the tank storage segment. Last year the port experienced further growth in the volume of liquid bulk handled, bringing the total to almost 70 million tonnes.
