December 18, 2017: One of the leading suppliers for cement plant, equipment, single machines CBMI mandated Bollore Logistics to deliver six out of gauge kilns and eight pieces of heavy lift cargos for BUA Cement plant in Nigeria. This material is intended for the creation of a second line of production of 3 million metric tonnes per year, in Edo cement plant.

Under the contract of Bollore Logistics North China, the materials have been loaded in Jingtang, China, and delivered to Koko port in Nigeria on the 11th of November. The Chinese local team operated the pre-carriage, the International Freight Forwarding from China to Nigeria and coordinated transit operations.

Bollore Logistics Nigeria managed the reception of the materials at Koko port and the transport operation to the final site located 243 km from Koko port. The Nigerian team was responsible for the stevedoring, terminal handling and customs clearance for this project. Those six kilns from 80 to 110 tons with a dimension up to 1250x544x580 cm have been loaded on three modular trailers. Regarding the difficult transportation conditions of those out of gauge cargos, two trips were conducted to the final job site in Okpella in Edo State, surrounded by the mechanics team, a special staff convoy and a security escort.

A preliminary road survey and subsequent adjustments to the road infrastructure quality were critical to make this transport a success. In order to avoid crossing a 6 meter-high bridge, the local team in Nigeria subcontracted with a local construction company to habilitate a road between two plantations. To optimize truck round trips, Sarens Buildwell brought two of their semi-modules together with our equipment. The delivery to the final site took one week per trip and was completed on time.

CBMI, part of the Chinese Group SINOMA, is specialised in industrial materials manufacturing. They have been mandated to manufacture six kilns for the BUA Group Edo cement plant in Edo state, in Nigeria.
