Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service gets new CEO

Dec 15, 2016: Yacob Yalla has been named the new CEO of the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise. Following the departure of Ahmed Tusa from the Enterprise earlier this month, the shipping line was under the leadership of the Deputy CEO until Yocob's appointment.

Tusa had taken over the government-owned company during the merger of three companies into what is now the Shipping Enterprise. Over his five year tenure, he also expanded the multi-modal system and the dry port system in Ethiopia.

Yalla became Minister of Trade in 2015 and served in that position until the Prime Ministers recent cabinet reshuffle, when he was replaced by Bekele Bulado (PhD). Ahmed Shide, the new Minister of Transport was appointed Board Chairman of ESLSE.
