Oct 25, 2016: Motherwell Bridge Industries has acquired Techniplus, a multi-disciplined engineering firm in Morocco, from its partner Konecranes of Finland.

Techniplus, which is dedicated to the maintenance and servicing of port handling equipment, provides its services to operators at the largest ports in Morocco such as Casablanca, Tangier, Agadir and Jorf Lasfar.

Motherwell Bridge Industries has installed over 200 port container cranes over the past ten years for Konecranes at terminals around Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

The acquisition of Techniplus will help Motherwell Bridge Industries extend its footprint into North Africa and will almost triple the size of it.

Motherwell Bridge Industries has appointed Alexei Sciberras as Techniplus’ new general manager, post the acquisition.
