Sept 24, 2016: Industrial conglomerate Daher will transport electrical substation equipment to the Lake Turkana Wind Power project in Kenya.

The equipment will be delivered from Europe, Turkey, Tunisia, India and China to the Loiyangalani site near Lake Turkana, about 1,000 kilometres from Mombasa. Once complete the Lake Turkana Windfarm will be largest of its kind in Africa.

The cargo will include 10 transformers each weighing 55 tonnes and will involve transportation of equipment from locations worldwide.

Daher is handling all sea freight, storage, transport and delivery on behalf of German engineering firm Siemens.

“We are very proud to be a part of this project alongside the teams at Siemens. Our expertise in logistics, industrial project management and field support enabled us to successfully complete the project, which is vital to Kenya’s development,” said Pascal Laguerre, senior vice president at Daher.
