Sept 21, 2016: Logistics firm Intertransport Gruber has transported seven lots of project cargo from Europe to Oman.

The consignments included compressor skids, transformers and other equipment for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, and was delivered to the Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP) in the South of Oman. “The cargo was loaded conventionally on FCL or on a ro-ro basis. Gruber was involved with the pre-carriages from various origins in Europe, the packing & stuffing in the ports and the sea-freight from Antwerp, Hamburg, and Rauma to Sohar in Oman,” said Ann-Kathrin Hoyer, project manager at Gruber. The firm is a member of the Project Cargo Network, or PCN, a global association connecting heavy-lift and project cargo specialists in more than 100 countries. Austrian PCN member, Gebrüder Weiss recently delivered five complete cement production lines to African job sites in Abidjan on the Ivory Coast, Nouakchott in Mauritania, Tema in Ghana, Djermaya in Chad and Diago in Mali. “Poor local infrastructure, rainy seasons and many other typical factors of West African trade did not make our operations easy, but now that the huge projects are completed successfully and in good order, we can cheer about them,” said Franco Ravazzolo, head of Project Logistics and Breakbulk at Gebrüder Weiss.
