Jan 23, 2017: Universal Transport, Paderborn-based heavy haulage specialist, has invested in 32 modular axle lines from the Faymonville G-SL series for the transport of various power plant components.

They make up the modular vehicle fleet with which the newly founded Universal Transport Egypt (UTE) will initially accompany two major projects in the coming months. The task is to transport arriving goods from the port in Adabiya to the building sites in New Cairo and Beni Suef, where the country's two largest gas-fired power plants are currently under construction.

The power plant components to be transported can weigh up to 190 tonnes. This expansion into the African continent is a new challenge for Universal Transport. To overcome it, the company is relying on Faymonville as their long-standing and proven partner.

The 32 G-SL axle lines are the first new modular acquisitions for Universal Transport from Faymonville.

In Egypt, the vehicles roll with high frequency between the respective locations. Numerous further challenges of this kind can be expected in this region in future, too,

As the renewable energy sector is also just starting to develop, it is expected that thousands of new wind turbines will be erected, and the volume of goods traffic is steadily increasing.

Universal Transport Egypt is ready for these projects and can count on Faymonville as a manufacturer that can supply customized and specific transport solutions, it said in a statement.
