January 8, 2018: One of the leading provider of new-generation IT solutions to the global travel, transportation and logistics industry, IBS Software has announced the appointment of Anand Krishnan as its new chief executive officer.

Anand will lead IBS’ worldwide operations and over 3000 employees globally and will report to IBS Group executive chairman V K Mathews.

“Anand’s prior experience in operating global businesses, leading multinational and multicultural workforces and driving growth make him eminently suitable for leading IBS through the next phase in our journey. With over 170 customers and counting, IBS is at an inflection point. I am confident that Anand will be able to help unleash its potential and drive towards its goals,” said V K Mathews.

Anand comes to IBS with a 20-year track record of building high-growth software businesses. Most recently, he served as executive vice president at Canonical Software where he led the commercialisation and growth of the Ubuntu business. Prior to that, he held several executive positions over a decade at Microsoft Corp and was responsible for launching and growing Microsoft’s Cloud business internationally. Before that, he was an early-hire at enterprise software startup Trilogy Software and helped scale the company to triple-digit millions in revenues. Anand holds a Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from Stanford University. He remains based in London.

“IBS has deep customer relationships, a track record of products that deliver as promised, strong domain expertise and a deep pool of talent to pull from. As our customers look for ways to become truly digitally-enabled, we have an incredible opportunity to help transform the Travel industry. I couldn’t be more excited about joining the IBS team and working on that mission,” said Anand.

In October 2017, Etihad Airways had entered into a multi-million dollar, multi-year contract with IBS Software for its cargo management solution, iCargo. The iCargo system will manage the airline’s air cargo sales and operations worldwide, automating its network-wide booking, pricing and capacity management functions with real-time revenue management based evaluation capabilities. iCargo will also perform real-time shipment status monitoring and quality management as shipments traverse its extensive network.
