August 12, 2020: Air France KLM Martinair (AFKLM) Cargo transported around 12 tonnes weighing Rolls-Royce Trent-1000 engine from Cairo, Egypt to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The airline commented on its LinkedIn page, ‘Our key to success in aerospace logistics is getting the right part to the right place at the right time. Our local team in Cairo follows our high company standards as well and made a great job by handling the engine with the utmost precision for delivery at its final destination’.

As per an article published in The STAT Trade Times, the unpredicted pandemic has hit the roadblocks forcing most of the countries to close their borders and airlines to ground their aircraft, bringing adverse impacts on the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business.

Such gradual movements are expected to bring the sector back on track.
