APM Terminals awards contract to Hill International for new facility at Tangier-Med Port

Hill International has been awarded the contract from APM Terminals MedPort Tangier SA to provide project management and supervision engineering services during the construction of a new container facility at the Tangier-Med Port Container Terminal in Morocco.

Dec 9, 2016: Hill International has been awarded the contract from APM Terminals MedPort Tangier SA to provide project management and supervision engineering services during the construction of a new container facility at the Tangier-Med Port Container Terminal in Morocco.

The two-year contract has an estimated value of between approximately $6-7.4 million.The Tangier-Med Port complex is one of the largest ports in Africa. It is constructed on the Straits of Gibraltar, a central artery of global shipping with over 200 vessels a day passing through carrying trade between Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Waleed Abdel-Fattah, Senior Vice President and Managing Director (Africa) for Hill's Project Management Group, said, "We are honoured that APM Terminals MedPort Tangier has chosen Hill to assist with this important project. We are confident that our team will deliver on all expectations.”

This news follows two large crane orders placed by APM Terminals in October 2016 to supply the newly expanded facility. Hans Kuenz received an order for a massive 32 automated stacking cranes as part of the deal.
