Bollore Logistics participates in Lebanon relief aid operation set up by CMA CGM

Bollore Logistics participated in the ‘A Humanitarian Boat for Lebanon’ operation set up by the CMA CGM group.

The expedition delivered emergency supplies and basic goods and goods provided by NGO partners of the CMA CGM Foundation.

October 07, 2020: Bollore Logistics participated in the %u2018A Humanitarian Boat for Lebanon' operation set up by the CMA CGM group. This operation was organised following the terrible explosion that took place in Lebanon on August 4, 2020, the damage of this disaster forced more than 3,000 residents of the Lebanese capital to be homeless, the damage consisting of billions of dollars.

The expedition delivered emergency supplies and basic goods and goods provided by NGO partners of the CMA CGM Foundation and the group's partner companies, which will then be distributed to 18 NGOs, 4 hospitals and the Lebanese Red Cross.

The transport of goods was carried out via a CMA CGM Group ship diverted from its usual service and departed from the port of Marseille (France) on August 25 to reach Beirut (Lebanon) as quickly as possible.

The Bollore Logistics team in Marseille has provided a lot of support to the System U group in their process of donating worth of goods to load the ship. Bollore Logistics took over the operational management of the System U group's goods; instructions, shipping follow-up, customs procedures, loading of the ship, transport of containers, reception and unloading by Bollore Logistics team in Lebanon.

The operation took place over three weeks and ended on August 31 at the Port of Beirut.
