Crescent Petroleum eyes expansion in Iraq, North Africa

Sharjah-based Crescent Petroleum is looking to expand further into Iraq and North Africa to tap into rising opportunities for natural gas to generate electricity, suggest media reports.

Jan 16, 2017: Sharjah-based Crescent Petroleum is looking to expand further into Iraq and North Africa to tap into rising opportunities for natural gas to generate electricity, suggest media reports.

According to reports, the company aims to increase its upstream holdings, which currently produce 82,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and covers the UAE, Egypt and Iraq.

The company is looking at upstream opportunities in south Iraq, including in oil. Crescent Petroleum already has visibility in Egypt and is currently exploring opportunities in other North African areas.
