Ethiopian Airlines carries 52 tonnes fruits using B777-300ER from Burkina Faso to Frankfurt

Using one of the four B777-300ER passenger aircraft reconfigured last week by its MRO team, Ethiopian Airlines operated its first international cabin-loaded cargo flight from Bobo Dioulasso Airport, Burkina Faso to Frankfurt, Germany after 22 years.

May 05, 2020: Using one of the four B777-300ER passenger aircraft reconfigured last week by its MRO team, Ethiopian Airlines operated its first international cabin-loaded cargo flight from Bobo Dioulasso Airport, Burkina Faso to Frankfurt, Germany after 22 years. 

The aircraft carried 52 tonnes of fruits as the pan African carrier is committed to serving farmers. 

The airline is flying across the world delivering much-needed materials in the fight against Covid-19. One of its most recent flights was on May 2 when it transported supplies from Hong Kong to the rest of the world. 

Ethiopian Cargo has started its three times weekly service to Bangkok starting April 17 to transport essential supplies and masks. 

Meanwhile, Ethiopian Airlines has transported a third donation of medical equipment and supplies from the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation from Guangzhou, China to Addis Ababa for Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) last week.
