In a pivotal milestone for regional industrial expansion, Mr Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), presided over the official groundbreaking ceremony for Jasan Group's massive new manufacturing development in the Qantara West Industrial Zone. Representing a total foreign direct investment of $117 million, the project by the renowned Chinese manufacturing giant highlights the economic zone's continued momentum in attracting world-class commercial partners while cementing SCZONE's status as a specialised global destination for advanced spinning, textiles, and ready-made garment production.

The sprawling project is slated to cover a vast site area of 300,000 square metres and will be constructed in three carefully planned operational phases. Once fully realised, the project will function as a comprehensive, fully integrated industrial complex outfitted with state-of-the-art machinery and eco-friendly manufacturing infrastructure. The multi-phased facility will encompass a broad spectrum of textile activities, ranging from initial spinning and fabric weaving to the specialised production of ready-made garments, performance sportswear, seamless apparel, high-quality socks, integrated fashion accessories, and advanced dyeing operations. By concentrating these sequential manufacturing steps within a single master-planned zone, the hub will achieve remarkable supply chain efficiency, reduced operational overheads, and strict quality control.

From an economic perspective, the project aligns seamlessly with Egypt's broader vision for trade-driven economic growth and industrial modernisation. The industrial complex is designed with a decisive international market focus, targeting the export of 90% of its total finished output to competitive global markets. In addition to significantly expanding regional manufacturing output and bolstering foreign currency reserves through substantial trade volume, the initiative will deliver transformative employment opportunities for the local workforce. Upon reaching full operational capacity across all three phases, the complex is expected to generate approximately 6,000 direct jobs, offering local talent dynamic career pathways across technical engineering, operations management, logistics, and skilled industrial manufacturing trades.

This milestone reinforces Qantara West's emerging role as a tailored hub for high-value textile manufacturing, demonstrating how targeted infrastructure investments and strategic global partnerships continue to drive economic development within the SCZONE ecosystem.
