April 22, 2021: Starting May 11, Qatar Airways will resume services to Khartoum, Sudan, with four weekly flights, increasing to daily service from June 1. The Khartoum services will be operated using B787 Dreamliner.

The resumption of flight comes after two years, when Qatar Airways decided to suspend its operation to Khartoum from April 1, 2019. The move was due to the boycott imposed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE on Qatar. Due to this, flights from Doha to Khartoum  became very expensive and took more than seven hours.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said, "Sudan is a strategically important market for Qatar Airways. We are pleased to announce the resumption of services to Khartoum, allowing Sudanese to enjoy our extensive international network in Asia, Australia, Europe and the US via Hamad International Airport. We will continue leading the way in keeping our 24 African destinations connected to the world."

The national carrier of Qatar continues to rebuild its network, which currently stands at over 130 destinations. With more frequencies being added to key hubs, Qatar Airways offers unrivalled connectivity to passengers, making it easy for them to change their travel dates or destination if they need to.

The flight will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday till June 1.
