RwandAir has ordered additional Airbus A330 and Boeing B737MAX8 for route expansion

Aug 22, 2018: Rwanda has recently signed a bilateral air services agreement with Italy during a global aviation meeting in Colombo.

The agreement, in short called Bilateral Airworthiness Agreement (BASA), now paves the way of airlines from the two countries entering into discussions and eventually launch flights between Kigali and Rome and other Italian cities like Milan.

RwandAir already flies from Kigali to Brussels and London but has in their medium-term plans foreseen additional European destinations following the rollout of five more in Africa and China. The airline presently flies to 26 destinations out of their hub airport.

Next on the list will be Addis Ababa, followed by Guangzhou and New York, among others, the latter subject to attaining all prerequisite approvals from US aviation and security agencies.

To cater for route expansion has RwandAir ordered additional aircraft including Airbus A330’s and Boeing B737MAX8.
