Wrenelle Stander appointed as group CEO at Comair

Comair Limited on Tuesday announced the appointment of Wrenelle Stander as the group chief executive officer and the discontinuation of the recently introduced joint-CEO structure.

The South African company’s airline division offers scheduled and non-scheduled airline services within South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

December 11, 2019: Comair Limited on Tuesday announced the appointment of Wrenelle Stander as the group chief executive officer and the discontinuation of the recently introduced joint-CEO structure. 

Glenn Orsmond, previously joint-CEO, has been appointed as the CEO of Comair’s Airline Division as part of an ongoing restructuring at Comair.

Lindsay Ralphs, group chairman, said “The joint-CEO structure introduced a few months back has been discontinued and these appointments should ensure better performance and efficiency in a very competitive airline industry.”

The South African company’s airline division offers scheduled and non-scheduled airline services within South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. The Group operates under its low-cost airline brand, kulula.com, as well as under the British Airways livery, as part of a licence agreement. 

Earlier this year, Comair acquired 100% of the equity in Star Air Cargo (Pty) Ltd and Star Air Maintenance (Pty) Ltd and wants to bring maintenance capability back into the Comair Group.
