March 11, 2020: Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ethiopia, a new subsidiary, has been officially launched as part of a joint venture between Bolloré Transport & Logistics and the Ethiopian company CLS Logistics. The operation which officially opened its doors on February 21, 2020, is set to offer Ethiopia a wider world of capabilities and solutions to support industry, business growth, and to power greater development in regional logistics.

“We have been the exclusive agent of Bolloré Transport & Logistics in Ethiopia since 2008 and through this partnership, we have successfully completed a number of projects. The joint venture will enable us to provide local industry with more infrastructure, technologies, and equipment,” said Teodros Abraham, founder and CEO of CLS Logistics, who has been appointed as chairman of the board of directors of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ethiopia.

“Bolloré Transport & Logistics shares a common vision with Ethiopia. The logistics sector, a pillar of industrial development, needs to be improved. With this new agency, the company is boosting its presence in East Africa while contributing to the logistics transformation in Ethiopia,” said Patrick Gerenthon, director of the Horn of Africa Cluster at Bolloré Transport & Logistics.

With its 120 Ethiopian employees, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ethiopia has an air-freight operations site at Addis Ababa Bole airport, 4,000 square metres of warehouses in Kaliti and agencies in the industrial parks of Hawassa, Bole Lemi and Kombolcha, as well as representation offices in the towns of Dire Dawa, Mekele, Bahir Dar and Moyale.

In another development, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d'Ivoire earned an ‘A+‘ rating from WARA1, following an assessment process carried out at regional and international levels. The rating is the highest ever attributed by WARA – reflects the extremely healthy financial situation of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d’Ivoire, the leader in its business sector. Listed on the Ivory Coast Stock Exchange, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d’Ivoire invests an annual CFA 10 billion (over €15 million) and is harnessing its financial autonomy to develop logistics projects. In 2019, the company opened Aérohub, an all-new 15,000 square metres tri-temperature platform aimed at the development of national and sub-regional logistics activities.
