Feb 4, 2019: Egyptair Cargo has taken delivery of its second EFW Airbus A330-200 passenger-to-freighter conversion, as part of its upgradation and modernization drive.

The 13-year-old aircraft, MSN709 was flown from Dresden, Germany to Cairo, Egypt and ground tests and acceptance procedures were successfully finished on 31 January.

The A330 replaces older A300-600P2F, and offers better range, volume and payload characteristics than the A300.

EFW says it is happy to have performed its fourth A330 conversion after successful STC approval at the end of 2017 on the A330-300 for launch customer DHL, and the STC for the A330-200 was released in mid-2018 for Egyptair Cargo.

The event marks the slot-in for the third aircraft of its kind, with MSN709 making space for MSN610, which has already gone through paint stripping and systems removal.
