June 10, 2019: EgyptAir has launched non-stop three times a week service between Cairo and Washington's Dulles International Airport.

The service is operated by the new B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The two planes of the same model joined the carrier's fleet in March and April, respectively. The flights will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Washington is EgyptAir's second US destination after New York and third in North America after Toronto.

Washington is the airline's second new destination in 2019 after Kigali, Rwanda, which it began serving in April.

By 2020, a total of 33 new jets will have joined EgyptAir's fleet, in addition to six B787-9 Dreamliner jets, 12 A220-300 planes, and 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

EgyptAir decided to suspend its current flights scheduled for Sudanese capital, Khartoum as a result of the ongoing clashes and public rage taking place in the capital, following a violent dispersal for a sit-in by security forces in Khartoum.
