May 09, 2017: Ghana has been tagged as one of the best aviation regions in West Africa, by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The country carries the second highest number of passengers in West Africa after Nigeria. This is in spite of the fact that Ghana has no airline of substance dedicated to flying in the region or intercontinental.

The credit for Ghana’s achievement goes to the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and the Ghana Airports Company, who have been pro-actively facilitating market access and opening the country to other airlines that come to do business.

President of IATA for Africa, Raphael Kuuchi reportedly said Ghana has all it takes to become one of the best Aviation hubs in the region.
