Apr 07, 2017: KLM cityhopper has announced it will wet-lease two ARJ-85s from Irish ACMI/charter specialist CityJet to cover select services to the United Kingdom later this summer season.

The KLM Royal Dutch Airlines unit said the two quad jets would be deployed on flights between Amsterdam and London City with effect from May 15. They will add four additional frequencies each weekday to the route.

Boet Kreiken, managing director, KLM Cityhopper, said, "KLM has been a long term partner of CityJet in its operations from the Netherlands to London City Airport. After an absence of eight years, KLM commenced services from Amsterdam to London City in February with our EMB-190 aircraft, currently operating four per weekday. With the new wet lease agreement, we will be able to increase our frequency into London City Airport, offering greater choice for our customers, and with our long-standing partner CityJet codesharing on all flights."

KLM will be offering a total of eight-week daily flights between Amsterdam and London City and also use CityJet aircraft on flights from Amsterdam to Birmingham Int'l, Hamburg Helmut Schmidt, Bordeaux and Belfast City.
