GEODIS has launched a new cross-border trucking service to help businesses move goods across Southern Africa. Operational since July 2025, the service connects South Africa with ten countries in the region through its hub in Johannesburg, providing transport options for both full truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments.

The countries connected through the new service include Angola (Luanda), Botswana (Gaborone), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Lubumbashi), Eswatini (Mbabane), Lesotho (Maseru), Malawi (Blantyre and Lilongwe), Mozambique (Maputo), Namibia (Windhoek), Zambia (Lusaka and Ndola), and Zimbabwe (Harare and Bulawayo).

The Johannesburg hub serves as a gateway for the distribution of a wide range of commodities. The service offers predefined transit schedules, scalable capacity, and routing options tailored to individual customer needs.

“Cross-border logistics in Africa often comes with challenges. With this new service, we aim to offer our customers a seamless flow of cargo from origin to destination, backed by our regional expertise and reliable infrastructure,” said Cobus Fourie, Managing Director at GEODIS in South Africa.

The company operates a global network in nearly 170 countries with 50,000 employees and generated €11.3 billion in revenue in 2024.
