How will launch of TY Logistics Park FZE impact West African trade?
TY Logistics Park FZE has opened in Lagos with West Africa’s largest Grade-A, 40,000-pallet distribution centre, boosting Nigeria’s logistics sector.

TY Logistics Park FZE has officially commenced operations in Alaro City within the Lekki Free Zone, introducing what is currently the largest Grade-A distribution centre in Nigeria and West Africa. The new facility has a storage capacity of over 40,000 pallets, positioning it as a central component in the region’s bid to modernise and scale up its logistics infrastructure.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, endorsed the project during its launch, describing it as a development that “will shape the future of logistics in Lagos and strengthen our position as Nigeria’s leading industrial hub.” He added that the site is strategically located along a “rapidly expanding economic corridor” that includes the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the Dangote Refinery, new manufacturing clusters and the planned Lekki–Epe International Airport.

The opening of the logistics park comes at a time when Nigeria’s logistics market is expanding steadily. Mordor Intelligence estimates the country’s third-party logistics (3PL) market at $4.56 billion in 2025, with projections rising to $5.57 billion by 2030. Broader freight and logistics activity is expected to grow from $10.95 billion in 2025 to $15.05 billion by 2030, according to Research and Markets.
Much of the current activity is driven by e-commerce, which accounted for 23% of sector revenue in 2024. Fulfilment centres near Lagos and Abuja airports now handle up to 7,000 orders per hour during peak shopping events, while return ratios near 12% continue to increase the need for robust warehouse management systems and efficient reverse-logistics processes. Life sciences and healthcare logistics are also expanding, with a projected growth rate of 6.8% through 2030, supported by rising demand for GDP-compliant storage, temperature-controlled distribution and certified handling of sensitive medical goods.
TY Logistics Park FZE aims to play a significant role in meeting this demand by providing a fully WMS-driven operational environment. The facility offers storage and handling, inventory management, last-mile distribution, pick-and-pack operations, value-added services and importer-of-record solutions. Its systems-driven model is designed to improve accuracy, visibility and reporting for customers operating in sectors where precision and compliance are essential. The company claims it to be the first contract logistics company with a fully systems-driven inventory management and operations environment with a ‘world-class WMS, IT infrastructure and team’.
The park’s location within the free zone is one of its core advantages. Goods can be imported duty-free into the facility, with duties and taxes payable only when the products are released into the Nigerian market or re-exported. The free zone framework also allows enterprises to move capital in international currencies, manage cash flow more efficiently and benefit from simplified customs procedures. By storing buffer stock closer to customers, companies are able to shorten lead times significantly and improve order fulfilment across Nigeria and the wider West African region.
The distribution centre is also EDGE-certified and built to international Grade-A standards, aligning it with global benchmarks for energy efficiency and operational quality. Its proximity to the Lekki Deep Sea Port enhances maritime connectivity, while the Federal Government’s commitment to completing the 7th Axial Road is expected to strengthen inland cargo movement once the project is finished.
For Lagos State, the launch supports the THEMES+ agenda focused on infrastructure, mobility and investment readiness. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that Alaro City is fast becoming a preferred industrial location, noting that the state will continue to create an environment where investors can operate with confidence.
With its scale, free zone advantages and technology-driven design, TY Logistics Park FZE is positioned to provide a significant boost to Nigeria’s logistics capabilities, offering the capacity and operational standards needed to support both domestic distribution and regional trade across West Africa.
