Dec 7, 2016: Turkish Airlines has added Cuban capital, Havana to its flight network, allowing South Africans to fly from Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban to Havana via Istanbul. The flight carries on to Caracas, Venezuela.

Already flying to 15 destinations in North and South America, Turkish Airlines’ recent additions bring the total number of destinations that airline serves to 295 worldwide and the total number of countries flown to 119. The service to Havana-Caracas will connect travelers to more than 20 city destinations around the world such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Moscow, Barcelona, Beirut, Guangzhou, Madeira, Lisbon, Porto, Frankfurt, Tenerife, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Zurich, Amsterdam, Munich, Copenhagen, Lyon, Berlin and Vienna. Istanbul – Havana – Caracas (HAV-CCS) – Istanbul flights are planned as three flights per week. The service would be launched on 20 December 2016.
