Mar 22, 2019: Qatar Airways has decided to suspend its operation to the Sudanese capital Khartoum effective April 1, 2019, as per a statement issued by the airline. The move comes in accordance with the boycott imposed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE on Qatar. Due to the ban, a flight from Doha to Khartoum has become very expensive; and in addition, it takes more than seven hours.

The move will further reduce travel options from and to the Sudan, which has seen a number of airlines withdraw their flights in the past over the country’s failure to let them remit sales proceeds due to lack of foreign currency.

Recently, Qatar Airways has taken delivery of its 250th aircraft, an A350-900.
