August 16, 2021: In an attempt to support Sri Lanka's healthcare sector, SriLankan Cargo has uplifted 800,000 auto disable syringes (0.5 ml) to Sri Lanka from Nairobi.

This is the first batch of the total consignment of 2 million Covid-19 syringes from Mombasa-based Revital Healthcare (EPZ) accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO). Rest of the consignment will be transported in the upcoming weeks.

This move intends to boost the local manufacturing industry's efforts to tap into foreign markets.

Sri Lanka marks the latest foreign market for the firm after it started exporting Covid-19 reagents to African nations, including Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia, last year.
