Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago and Southeast Asia’s biggest economy, making logistics both critical and complex. Speaking at transport logistic and air cargo Southeast Asia in Singapore, Utami Prasetiawati explains to Libin Chacko Kurian how Bonded Logistics Centers are helping the country manage growth, control costs and attract investment.

“Bonded logistics centres are facilities approved by customs to give fiscal incentives to importers and exporters,” she says. Cargo stored inside a PLB is not considered imported until it leaves the facility, while export cargo is regarded as exported once it enters. “This helps companies and makes them immune to policy changes.”
