Egypt sends second Ebola aid to DRC

Egypt has dispatched a second shipment of medical aid to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to support the country's response to the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

The humanitarian shipment was coordinated by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), in collaboration with Egypt's Ministry of Health and the Egyptian Embassy in Kinshasa. It forms part of Egypt's continued efforts to strengthen the DRC's healthcare system and assist in containing the spread of the Ebola virus.

The latest delivery underscores Egypt's ongoing commitment to supporting African nations during public health emergencies and reinforcing regional cooperation in disease prevention and response.

The shipment includes essential medicines and medical supplies to support the Democratic Republic of Congo's Ebola response, highlighting the coordinated efforts of Egyptian government institutions to deliver humanitarian assistance and development cooperation across Africa.

The latest consignment builds on Egypt's previous aid to the DRC through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) and reaffirms the country's commitment to helping African nations tackle public health challenges. The initiative also aims to strengthen regional health security and support efforts to contain the spread of cross-border diseases and epidemics.

The initiative underscores the agency's ongoing commitment to advancing development priorities and capacity-building across Africa. It aligns with Egypt's broader strategy of strengthening African cooperation, addressing shared challenges, particularly in the health sector, and supporting sustainable development while enhancing health security across the continent. The first shipment was carried earlier this year, in May to the DRC and Uganda.
