October 24, 2019: The arrival of a second B787-8 Dreamliner on October 26 will give Air Tanzania the additional aircraft needed to expand their flight services from Dar es Salaam to Mumbai, India.

Effective November 15, a fourth weekly flight will be added to the schedule, which will then offer departures from Tanzania’s commercial capital on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The return flights from the Indian city on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.


Additional long haul flights are under planning for later this year when the airline intends to launch services to London Gatwick and to Guangzhou in China.

Air Tanzania is expecting, through the Tanzania Government Flight Agency (TGFA), the delivery of a second B787-8 Dreamliner, joining another one which is already in service since July 2018. The second such aircraft will also be configured in a two-class cabin layout of business and economy.

Earlier this year, the route to Mumbai was launched and the airline at this stage began to use the first B787-8 aircraft.
