December 16, 2019: Air Seychelles celebrated its five years of non-stop service between Mumbai, (India) and Seychelles. As part of its commitment to further support the passenger as well as cargo suppliers to and from Mumbai, in 2020, the airline will increase its services to India from six flights per week to daily thus providing holidaymakers and business travellers more choice when planning their travel during the peak seasons.

Launched as a three per week service in December 2014, Seychelles flag carrier currently operates six weekly flights to India’s financial capital apart from having transported more than 900 tonnes of cargo over the same period between the two countries.

Speaking on this historic milestone during an event held in Mumbai, Remco Althuis, CEO, Air Seychelles said, “Marking five years of successful operations between Seychelles and Mumbai is definitely a proud moment for Air Seychelles. In fact, today, Air Seychelles is also celebrating one year of a successful codeshare partnership with India’s flag carrier, Air India. The continuous support received throughout the one year of the alliance has enabled both airlines to increase inbound and outbound tourism across their network, besides gaining great visibility plus marketing opportunities. The collective efforts of all stakeholders across our network are also important in the success of any route and the occasion today also serves as a moment to express our gratitude to all our partners in India as well as our guests for their loyalty over the years of service.”

Between December 2014 until November 2019, Air Seychelles has carried over 500,000 passengers between Mumbai and Seychelles. The six weekly services between Mumbai and Seychelles are currently being operated by its new A320neo aircraft.

Beyond Mumbai, together with codeshare partner Air India, the airline also offers domestic services to eight cities including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Kochi, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Trivandrum as well as international services between Mumbai and Bangkok.
