September 08, 2021: Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d'Ivoire, with the support of the Africa projects department, participated in the AZITO IV power plant extension. The project will end in October 2021 with the delivery of the last 254 tonnes steam turbine to the AZITO site.

This project aims to increase the power plant's production capacity from 450 MW to 700 MW.

Many heavy and oversized packages required a complex logistical solution due to their weight and size (up to 358 tonnes and 30 metres long). One of the major challenges was to find a suitable and competitive transport solution from the port of Abidjan to the site, located on the other side of the lagoon.

After advanced technical studies, Bolloré Transport & Logistics implemented a dedicated transport solution by barge and self-propelled modular trailers (SPMT), to overcome the pinch points which were faced while reaching the site by road.

Furthermore, the diversity of the group’s business activities in Côte d’Ivoire significantly contributed to the operation.
