FedEx has announced a global AI Education and Literacy programme aimed at equipping its workforce with skills to work with new technologies across its operations. The company said the initiative will provide personalised, role-based training for employees in all regions.

FedEx noted that the programme is part of its multi-year transformation plan in which it is adopting AI-powered tools to improve supply chain performance. The training will focus on building common AI fluency and developing capabilities to apply the technology in day-to-day functions.

“The future of business is being shaped by data and AI more than ever before,” said Raj Subramaniam, president and CEO, FedEx Corporation. "Our people remain at the heart of everything we do as FedEx continues its evolution into an AI-powered enterprise." We’re investing in AI education tools to help our team members grow their skills, support safer, smarter work, and unlock new opportunities across the business.”

FedEx has partnered with Accenture to design and deliver specialised AI training modules. Accenture will use its LearnVantage platform to create scalable programmes that include skill recognition and live sessions. The company said these modules will give employees personalised pathways to build AI literacy aligned with their roles and career goals.

The training will focus on creating a shared understanding of technology and responsible AI use across the organisation. FedEx said employees will gain the skills to apply AI within their functions, while leaders will receive guidance on integrating AI into team activities and wider processes.

“We are on a journey to empower our people with AI literacy and the practical technology skills needed to keep driving our business forward,” said Vishal Talwar, chief digital and information officer, FedEx Corporation. “As we create a shared, common understanding of AI internally at FedEx, team members will have access to modules, AI certifications, and mastery opportunities to help them grow in their careers.”

“FedEx is making supply chains smarter for everyone by putting its people at the centre and providing them with the training they need to thrive in the age of AI,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO, Accenture. “We are excited to partner with FedEx to deliver role-based training that enables its employees to use AI responsibly, discover new ways of working, and confidently drive transformational change.”
