Standard Bank has opened a representative office in Cairo, Egypt, to expand its presence in North Africa and support trade, investment, and innovation across the continent. The bank announced the move on Thursday, saying the new office will serve as a hub to connect clients with key economic corridors across Africa.

The Cairo office marks Standard Bank’s 21st point of presence in Africa. The bank said the expansion reflects its confidence in Egypt’s economy and its strategic position as a gateway between Africa, the Middle East, and global markets. The representative office in Cairo gives them the ability to connect clients to the continent’s most dynamic trade, investment, and innovation corridors.

Standard Bank said it aims to support Egyptian businesses expanding into other African markets, enable global companies to invest in Egypt, and foster partnerships that promote sustainable development.

With over 163 years of experience, Standard Bank said it will offer Egyptian clients market insights, financial expertise, and access to its pan-African network. The bank is also working with Egypt’s business leaders and policymakers to advance shared growth objectives.
