Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) is the fourth busiest cargo airport in the world and plays a very critical role in global trade, providing a fuel-efficient stopover point on great circle flight routes. NorthLink Aviation, which holds a 55-year lease for the 120-acre South Park Campus, is building a world-class air cargo terminal at ANC to support growing cargo volumes. On the side-lines of the IATA World Cargo Symposium in London last month Reji John, Editor, STAT Media Group, caught up with Sean Dolan, CEO, NorthLink Aviation, to find out what this multi-million dollar infrastructure investment entails, the potential impact on the cargo volumes handled at ANC and how such an infrastructure will improve the speed of freighter turnaround time.
